MBHS Strategic Priorities

Corporate Compliance/Financial/Resource Allocation

 MBHS will maintain standards for operating a business in the State of Maryland. MBHS follows the guidelines of operating an OMHC and PRP in accordance to COMAR 10.63 and an approved, accreditation board which currently is CARF. The statutes listed in Maryland law is overseen by Maryland Health Authority (MHA) and the State’s Administrative Organization which is currently Optum. MBHS has Medical/Clinical Director that monitors direct service providers to assure treatment/contact notes are within the boundaries of MBHS’s scope of business. 


MBHS conducts its financial management in accordance with established accounting principles and business practices. Fiscal management includes monitoring daily operational costs, establishing and monitoring the annual budget and incorporating plans for long-term solvency.  

Accessibility

  

1. Architectural : MBHS will be centrally located within the county and having several streets to access major highways in the county. It will be  accessible to public transportation, with the closest Metro Transit System within a 15-minute walking distance. 

2. Attitudinal: MBHS will work to reduce stigmas toward mental health treatment and require all staff to participate in cultural diversity training to assure treating all individuals, regardless of their differences, with dignity and self-worth. 

3. Financial: MBHS will work to diversify its payee sources.

4. Environmental: MBHS will maintain a central location within the county. MBHS will be in a moderate crime rate area with adequate parking, a bus stop in proximity and mass transit (Metro) with in a 15-minute walk.

5. Employment: MBHS will increase the number of direct service providers through advertisement and the use of job search sites such as Indeed and Zip Recruiter.

6. Communication: MBHS will utilize a number of avenues to communicate to stakeholders about information such as changes in policy/procedures that affect the environment, finances, employment, crisis and other situations that may arise within the clinic. 

7. Transportation: MBHS will access transportation programs to assist consumers to have transportation to medical appointments.

8. Other Areas: MBHS will access external services to ensure ethic 

Cultural Competency/ Diversity Plan

I. Culture

Ensure consumers and staff are receiving culturally appropriate opportunities.   

II. Age

Ensure that services and literature are age appropriate.

III. Gender

Provide gender appropriate opportunities.

IV. Sexual Orientation

Increase referral resources for facilities and programs that are based on gender identity and not assigned gender.

V. Spiritual Beliefs

Provide an inclusive environment including competency in Spiritual Beliefs.

VI. Socioeconomic Status

To demonstrate compassion, integrity, and respect for others.

VII. Language 

 Ensure consumers receive linguistically appropriate services 

Risk Management Planning and Human Resources

  

MBHS will develop reporting mechanisms that will allow direct staff, patients, and pertinent individuals to communicate concerns. All concerns will go directly to the compliance officer who will inform the Leadership Team and Advisory Council for immediate attention. 

1.  MBHS will explore technology that will assist in maintain compliance in accordance to COMAR 10.63 and an approved, accreditation board.  

2. MBHS will consider the Risk Assessment report from the Liability Insurance Carrier.

3.  MBHS will explore a hiring campaign to increase direct service workers.


 MBHS will maintain a strategy to prevent staff turnover and to increase hiring opportunities to attract direct service providers 

Technology

MBHS will utilize a Electronic Healthcare Records (EHR) that is COMAR compliant.

Health and Safety

We accept most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. We also offer affordable self-pay options for those without insurance.
